One of those days

Today was just one of those days.
It all started with a really early morning. Rosie and I don't like early mornings.
We kind of love our slow moving, lazy morning routine.
Today we had to drag ourselves out of bed for an immunization appointment.
Poor Rosie had a rough go.
She pooped through her pj's while in the waiting room. (she must have known what was coming)
Four shots to the chubby little legs.
Broke. My. Heart.
I made John hold her during the shots, which ended up being to my disadvantage because that saddest little face was right across from me, just staring at me the whole time.
It was too sad. I am not tough enough for that.

We came home to a crazy hyper puppy, who decided today was the day to take allllllll the time in the world to make it around the block for a potty break, while I held her tugging leash in one hand and a sad baby in the other. The little rebel then has an 'accident' on the carpet,
followed by a nice chomp on the wooden leg of our side-table.

The kind of day where I found myself standing in the kitchen eating my fifth chocolate chip cookie and it was only noon! -the chocolate chip cookies turned out as flat as pancakes, but that's another story for another day.

After a long, sweet cuddle on the couch with one very sad, sleepy baby, and one very lovable little pup, I found myself in just the place I wanted to be, and not wanting the day to end.
After John came home and told me "This is just how I like my chocolate chip cookies, flat and ooey gooey, delicious", I couldn't help but smile with gratitude and want to have more of 'those days'.

I think we will be sleeping in as late as we feel like tomorrow.

  3. At least you had cookies to make you feel better:) it is always way sucky when there is no sugary-goodness to take away all the sad! I'm glad it all turned around and that sad face isn't working her way into your soul

  7. Aww I feel for you, those immunisations are the worst! My two year old refuses to even step into a doctor's office nowadays. I'm so glad I came across your blog. Rosie is such a cute little thing and you yourself are one gorgeous mama. By the way I really love your blog header, such a whimsical illustration. Did you create it yourself?
