4th on the lake

I am finally getting around to posting our Fourth of July celebrations. 

We spent the day at our friends beautiful lake house. It was gorgeous. Right out of a movie scene I tell ya, green as green could be. Everything you would imagine a lake house in the beautiful south to be like. The charming porch wrapping around the house, a storybook dock, with rope ties and all. Relaxing on the dock in the swaying hammock, swimming and good company, make for one great day! + we even got to bring our Eloise along, it was a puppy paradise! 

We are so grateful for such sweet friends to make memories with.

We then had quite the firework show with our friends from church!

I think the Dads were the real firework fans, ha! John had more fun lighting those fireworks  than any kid there. It was pouring rain and they didn't let that stop the show.

 These two 'super heroes' were quite scared of the fireworks.

 What a fun day to celebrate our beautiful country.

Gratitude for freedom is something I need to think about more often.
